December Concept: Quiet Endings, Gentle Beginnings
December invites us to slow down and look back — to pause and give closure to the year 2025 that’s ending. In this Self Care Sketchbook session, we’ll use art as a space for reflection. Through color, texture, and mindful marks we will cover with acrylic and transform our painting. In a way we’ll honor what we’ve experienced, let go of what we don’t need to carry, and make room for new beginnings.
If you’d like, bring along a short text, poem, or song that feels meaningful to you, please do! We’ll use it as inspiration for the journaling.
✨ No experience needed — just curiosity, patience, and a willingness to slow down.
January Concept: Threads of intention
Time goes fast and we start 2026!
Let's being the year with creativity by putting our intentions on the paper with color and thread.
We will create abstract watercolor and ink shapes , then use embroidery to “anchor” your intentions into the page — each stitch representing focus and care.
Paint and embroidery is super fun! If you haven't tried embroidery don't worry, it will an easy and gentle exercise.
Reflection idea: What intention do you want to bring into this new beginning?
If you’d like, bring along a short text, poem, or song that feels meaningful to you, please do! We’ll use it as inspiration for the journaling.
✨ No experience needed — just curiosity, patience, and a willingness to slow down.
February Concept: Light Through the Dark
When I first arrived in Canada, February was such a hard month for me.
Everything felt so dark and damp—the constant rain and the grey sky
But...
I kept making art.
Even in the darkest part of the Canadian winter, sitting with my sketchbook, playing with color, softness, and little transparent washes—it saved me. Art became this gentle light I could hold onto.
That’s why our February Self Care Sketchbook session is all about transparency, watercolor, and finding light inside the dark.
We’ll explore transparent layers that feel like mist, rain, and winter skies with bright colors that shine through.
February can feel heavy… but your sketchbook can be your refuge.
If you’d like, bring along a short text, poem, or song that feels meaningful to you, please do! We’ll use it as inspiration for the journaling.
✨ No experience needed — just curiosity, patience, and a willingness to slow down.
