What you will learn inside my course

Stitched Color includes everything you need to learn painting and embroidery from the very beginning.

We’ll dive deep into exploring color combinations and discovering which color palettes work best for you. You’ll start by painting on paper to see how watercolor and ink react to different surfaces, and then move on to working with various fabrics.

I’ll guide you through three complete embroidery and paint projects, from start to finish, with gentle step-by-step instruction—over 3+ hours of video content.

By the end, you’ll be able to create your own projects and develop a mini series of embroidered hoops that reflect your unique style.

FAQ

Getting Started

  • I've never done embroidery before. Is this course suitable for beginners?

Absolutely! This course is perfect for beginners because it focuses on freestyle, artistic embroidery rather than strict patterns. You'll learn basic stitches and build from there. The philosophy is exploration over perfection, so there's no pressure to get things "right."

  • Do I need to know how to paint with watercolors?

No previous painting experience is required. This course teaches you simple watercolor techniques specifically for fabric.

  • I've always wanted to try this, but what if I don't consider myself artistic?

This course is designed to help you find YOUR artistic voice, not replicate someone else's. My freestyle approach means there are no rules to follow, making it perfect for discovering your own creative style. If you can thread a needle and hold a paintbrush, you can do this!

Materials & Budget

  • What are the absolute essentials I need to start?

Minimum essentials: watercolors or acrylic inks, watercolor paper for practice, 1-2 fabric pieces (cotton or linen), embroidery floss (DMC or similar), embroidery needles, one embroidery hoop (any size), scissors, water jar, and brushes.

  • How much will I need to spend on materials?

You can start with budget-friendly options. Student-grade watercolors work great, and you only need basic DMC embroidery floss (widely available and affordable). The course shows various price points for materials, so you can choose based on your budget. You likely already have some supplies at home.

  • Is there a materials list I can download before starting?

Yes! A comprehensive materials list PDF is available in the course resources section.
